Mathematics (Years 0-8)
Our facilitators offer Professional learning & development (PLD) to support the implementation of the revised Mathematics and Statistics Learning Area for years 0 – 8.
For each of the school's remaining Maths PLD Days for 2026, schools can select three of the listed modules that will best suit their strengths and areas of focus. Each module focuses on a specific teaching or content area within the updated Mathematics and Statistics learning area focussing on the following strands.
- Number
- Rational number
- Geometry
- Algebra

- Understand aromatawai as it relates to pāngarau including Uiui, GloSS, IKAN and Ngā Whanaketanga Rumaki Māori
- Support provisionally certificated teachers to develop effective pāngarau programmes
- Identify and incorporate digital resources into the teaching and learning of pāngarau
- Develop effective systems and processes to support overall teacher judgments and moderation
- Provide guidance for kura and schools to engage whānau in pāngarau learning
