This paper provides students with a structured and focused introduction to the Social Sciences. It draws on historical and contemporary examples in order to illustrate how important events and ideas have shaped the modern social science subjects. The paper also offers an applied introduction to social science research. This paper leads in to degrees with social science based content such as the BMS(Hons) and BTchg, as well as the BSocSc.
