Why study the Certificate in Health and Wellbeing?

The Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Level 5) introduces students to foundational concepts in hauora, human biology, health systems, and cultural competency, providing an interdisciplinary base for further study or entry-level employment in the health sector.

Underpinned by a commitment to equity and the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, the programme equips students with essential introductory knowledge in holistic health, biomedical sciences, health promotion and kaupapa Māori psychology.

The Certificate in Health and Wellbeing is a great way to gain an introductory qualification in the field of health. It is equivalent to the first year of a Bachelor of Health degree, enabling students to transfer into the Bachelor of Health studying any of the three majors.
